The Great (Gross) Salt Lake

We took our first and probably our last trip out to the beaches of the Great Salt Lake. I have to say that it was an experience that only you can have. The pictures don't give it true justice, if you want to call it that. It was Tim's day off and we were driving in the area of the Great Salt Lake so we figured, sure lets stop and check it out. I was in Flip flops like usual so I thought I would just stay in the car while they walked out to the beach. I stayed there for a few minutes and thought what the heck I'm going. The first few steps should have been a sign for me not to continue, but I thought whatever we are doing something as a family so do it. As you can see I continued on. It was unforgettable and I did get some really cool and cute pictures.

We made it.....finally

A daddy and his little girl, how precious
Believe it or not all of the black spots are bugs.

We were all anxious to get back to the car and away from the bugs.

All of the bumps on the sand were dead birds. There was one area that you could look in both directions and just see a ton of dead birds. YUCK!

Here are some of the salt crystals that formed on the land. They were really crunchy when you stepped on them.
I can't believe how many bugs there were. It was totally gross, just watch the wave of bugs as Tim walks.

The Young Family Reunion

Every two years the David Young family gets together and has a reunion. This year we went to the Boy Scout Training center in Mill Creek Canyon. It was so beautiful up there and everyone had a great time. Just look at the view.

It was also Grandma and Grandpa Youngs 60th Wedding anniversay that weekend. They had a reception the night before. It was very nice.

The boys had a blast playing by the water. I was so worried that someone was going to fall in but they all surprised me and stayed dry. The weather was perfect.

Emma Hated It........................... Ashton didn't mind so much
Grandma Young makes and sells the most beautiful blankets. She made this one for Emma. It has 3 fairies on it and is all hand stiched. I had to take this opportunity to take a picture of Emma, her Great Grandma and this amazing blanket.

Update

Well, we made it. We have been in Utah since June 5, 2008. YES!! We are back together as a family.

I know I haven't posted in such a long time. We don't have the internet yet so I have been using Jenny's Computer and haven't had a whole lot of time to post.

Since I last posted Brigham has turned 3. His birthday was May 19th and we had a combined party with his cousin Connor. It was a lot of fun, and it was at a very nice park. Thanks to the Monroes for planning it, I don't know that I would have been able to give Brigham a party. He had a great time.

Andy and Stacey moved into our house the next weekend to help me finish getting things together for the big move. It was so nice having them there. My good Friend Aletha saved me with all of her expert help with packing and moving. I couldn't have been able to do half as much if I didn't have her help. Andy and Dad Terry packed up the Trailer, and it was stuffed. I even managed to throw a few more things in there after they left on there way up to Utah. I set off the next day after I stuffed the Sequoia with everything I would need for the next few days. And man was it packed. I had it almost up to the roof with bags and I even had stuff tied down on top. It didn't take too long to get there and we of coarse went to Tim's work first to say "Hi" and then headed out to our new home. We are renting Becky and Charles home in Tooele. We have been here almost 3 weeks and are trying to get adjusted. I miss California and everyone there, but there is a higher power telling us that we need to be here for one reason or another, hopefully we will find out sooner then later.

We (I meen me, mostly) have been able to do some fun stuff with the kids. I took them swimming at the aquatic center here in Tooele. They loved it and can't wait to go back. We go to the park right around the corner from our house almost every night. Tim doesn't usually get home untill 9:30pm or later, so I try to keep them busy throughout the day. We also went with Jenny and Connor up to Emegration Canyon and walked on the path where the Pioneers came through. It was really cool. We are going to go back with Tim so we can walk up a little farther and have a picnic. All of us went to the Hogle Zoo to see all the cool animals. Afterwards we went to the park for a picnic and then a few other places before we headed on home. On the way Tim had a great idea to drive up into this canyon by the house and have a BBQ for dinner. It was very nice and relaxing.

The boys are already enrolled in school and they picked out their teachers. There are only about 625 students total. They will be able to walk to school or even ride their bikes. Well I will post some pictures later but for now this will have to do. Thanks to everyone who help us get up here.

Tim came to California

While I was up in Utah Tim decided to take the time off so we could spend it together then we found out that my Mom and Dad were coming down for my nieces blessing so he ended up coming with them. We had decided not to let the boys know he was coming, we wanted to surprise them. So everyone arrived at the house at about 1:00am Friday morning, of coarse I waited up for them. Tim went in and looked at the boys, I know he wanted to wake them up but he didn't. The next morning Tim went out and sat on the couch while I went and woke up the boys for our morning scripture study. Ammon came out first and saw Tim, he had the biggest smile on his face. Next was Brigham, I was holding him and he was definitely surprised. Then we waited and waited and waited and finally after about 2 or 3 minutes of Teancum going to the bathroom and a few other things, he finally emerged out into the living room. He started talking to me then looked up and saw that his dad was sitting on the couch and gave him a giant hug. It was so fun to surprise them with their Dad. We all wish he could have just stayed a little (a lot) longer. On Saturday we had Tim's Family and a few friends up for a BBQ. I think he really enjoyed being able to see everyone and spend some quality time relaxing.

Going to Utah on a Plane

Emma and I went up to Utah on a plane. We were able to spend 6 days up there. Let me tell you I really needed to be able to spend some quality time with Tim all by myself. We were able to do a lot of things together and figure out what we need to do for this time in our lives. We went to the Salt Lake Temple. It was a beautiful day and a much needed trip to the temple.

We took Emma to the park. She loved the swing and Tim had a lot of fun playing with her. When we first got there Emma was asleep so we walked around hoping she would wake up. By the time we got back to the swings she was wide awake and just wanted to stay on the swing.
